Sep 2018 – Update to the Blog Post Log Table

Original Post:

Here is a hint for bloggers:

Document in a table or chart the items you are writing about, so you won’t have to wonder what a certain item was about. Some items we write about, have unique titles so it is easy to know what it was about but others have titles which do not describe the content of the piece.

I created the table below after having written 46 blog posts and had to go back to read some of those posts.  The titles of the blog posts did not tell me what the post was about and I realized my readers would have the same problem, not knowing what the blog post is about. I could image them saying, “Where is the blog post that talks about so and so”.

Since I had forgotten what the blog contained and I was the one who wrote it, then my readers would also have that problem.

I needed to correct the problem and so I created the table: “Title of Blog update Aug 07 2020

By Jose A Munoz

Retired General Motors designer who now works on subjects dealing with genealogy. I create trees using items I find in old Google News Archive newspapers and I contact other tree owners notifying them about the news item concerning their relative and send them a link to the tree I created. I post a screen print of the news item on the tree for others to copy, so that my work will benefit others. Occasionally, I will post about the tree I created or the item that I found, always with a "how to" in-bedded in the post. I want my blog posts to help others with their family trees or with their genealogy experiences.

    1. I’m glad you like it. I was having trouble keeping track of all the topics and needed something outside the blog to be able to find a particular blog, the index was the ticket. And thanks for the comment.

  1. Jose – I’m trying to find a number to reach you. Can you please call me (it’s genealogy related). Phone number removed so others will not copy. (Connecticut). I’m leaving this message on Sunday, 15 Dec 2018. You can delete.
