Westport Landing

Small items in old newspapers can often give you important information for your genealogy work. For instance this 1901 Boston Evening Transcript item:

1901 - Westport Landing

Family records from Missouri may have birth or death place as Westport Landing and if you don’t know your history you would not know that this was the early Kansas City site.

Capture small items even if they are not part of your family tree history.

Thank You.

Jose from Clarkston, Michigan

  1. Great! I lived in the Westport area of Kansas City for several years. This area was actually settled before The Town of Kansas proper and later absorbed. The Battle of Westport of the Civil War is somewhat preserved in Loose Park, nearby.

    1. Thanks John for stopping and leaving the comment. I am glad that I was able to provide news about your area.
