Amistad Africans 1841

I had planned on doing another blog but while researching the McLeod Case for a neighbor (I live in the Detroit area, he lives across the lake in Canada) I saw a small item that I thought was important to bring to the attention of YOU the reader.

I am sure we’ve all seen the 1997 movie Amistad, well here is a 1841 newspaper item about the case and in it is a letter from Cinque.

There is not much more to say than what has been so elequently said in Cinque’s letter.
