Found another tree: John Evan McKay 1937

As I’ve mentioned before in my blogs, I have a “NO LUCK” folder and from time to time I go into it and pick a file to work on. This time I got lucky and picked one which now has a home.

I don’t know how long it was sitting in the folder and I didn’t have any particular reason for picking it.

I had created a tree using the information in the Obit so I went into the tree to see if there were any new hints. I didn’t find any right away so I just started doing search on the individuals in the tree. I got a findagrave hint and from the info in that hint I was able to add a couple more people on the tree.

With the new information on the tree I eventually got the hint I was looking for a Family Tree.

I noticed that the tree had the name MacKay and not McKay so that is probably why it had not come up before. The nice thing about finding the Glover Family Tree was that it has two great stories. Owner gloverhubbell says the stories are:
From Grandma Kellough’s family history”

Since I do not own these stories I have not included the text here but let me tell you, the stories are unique and give some good history about the family.

From the Glover Tree I was able to find two other trees which have John in their branches, by looking at who else linked to the family stories.

You see Ancestry.com lists all the other trees who have copied an item from a tree, so you have the list of family trees that have a connection to the family.

I sent the McKay Obit notice to the Glover, Moore and Benjamin Family Trees, who all have John somewhere on their family tree branches.

Perhaps more people will find the obit now that it will be put on three trees and has been written up in this blog.

Thank You.

This newspaper has the wrong date on the front page 1837 but the newspaper pages have the correct date which is 1937. However the Google News photocopy title did not notice the error and lists this newspaper as being from 1837.
